It’s Monday. The upper east coast got hit pretty hard over the weekend with something like two feet of the horrid white stuff under blizzard conditions.  That had to hurt. Here in Illinois its been mostly wicked cold with some additional snow here and there. This week we’re in for a brief warm up, heavy snow, and then more frigid cold. Not looking forward to any of that.

We have a really nice dog park nearby our home. It’s huge and very popular. We’ve been wanting to take our dog, Abby, but I  just never got around to getting her signed up. Well, a few days ago I finally applied online and got her registered. We’ve had her for over two years now and she really hasn’t been around other dogs much, so we weren’t completely sure how it would go. She would never hurt anybody, but she’s part Sheepdog so she’s big, has a very loud intimidating bark, and is very protective. We decided to give it a shot and took her out there Sunday afternoon and she had an absolute blast. She had no problem with the other dogs and was running and playing with them almost immediately. She even ran up to other people for pets, which isn’t something she typically does. She really enjoyed the whole experience and now I wish that I had done this over a year ago!

I caught Guy Fieri’s Hawaiian special on Discovery+ over the weekend and it was really good! In this multi-episode series he taken his family off the beaten path of the Hawaiian islands to explore their culture and cuisine. It’s very interesting, funny, and educational. I highly recommend checking it out.

Time to wrap this up. I have a belly full of chicken soup and I’m looking forward to getting some good sleep.
