Nascar is back!

It’s Monday. Nascar kicked off its preseason yesterday with a racing event they called The Clash at the Coliseum. Now the LA Coliseum isn’t a racetrack so a small quarter-mile track had to be paved where there previously was a football field. Heavy barriers and protective fencing also had to be installed for safety measures. The event started out with a series of short heat races that were used to set the lineup for the 150 lap main feature, The Clash. There was lots of beatin’ & bangin’ but that was expected with 23 cars on such a small track. It made for an exciting race and in the end it was Joey Logano who took the checkers. It was a fun and historic afternoon of racing in front of a packed… coliseum!

I started watching the Olympics over the weekend. Peacock was streaming everything, so it was easy to catch all my favorite events. I was able to see some Curling, Ski Jumping, Luge, and Biathlon. I love watching  the Biathlon because the amount of endurance required is beyond ridiculous. How do you do something like that without your heart exploding? You have to be completely insane to willingly put yourself through all that, but I guess that’s why I love watching it so much. Next on my list is Bobsled and Skelton, those are always cool.
