North Carolina Horsepower

It’s Thursday. Here in the suburbs of Chicago you wouldn’t see a Corvette gathering like this for another several months—at least! Mother Nature’s fascination with snow and ice up here just wouldn’t allow it. However, that’s not the case for the Wilmington Corvette Club because they’re located in North Carolina. Jim, one of my readers, has a few friends in the club and was kind enough to send in this photo from a recent club gathering. I can pick out some C7s, C6s, C5, and even a few of the new C8s. Seeing all this Corvette goodness makes me very jealous knowing it’ll be months before I can get my ’04 out of storage. Waiting on Spring to arrive seems to take longer every year!

Hi Keep: Long-time fan, Jim F, here. I knew we had a lot of Corvette owners here at River Landing but I didn’t realize there were this many. I was surprised that there were no older Vettes. My neighbor has an older one, but he keeps it in his garage. We are in Wallace, NC, 40 minutes north of Wilmington. Two Great golf courses. I play six days a week during good weather. The Corvette club is out of Wilmington, NC. I don’t expect you to use this on your website, but would be elated if you did. Thanks. -Jim
