Start Your Engines!

It’s Monday. Hot damn tamale baby, the Nascar 2023 season has begun! It was Ricky Stenhouse Jr. who managed to dodge late-race mayhem to get his first Daytona 500 win! It wasn’t an easy win, either. A series of wrecks near the end of the race took out several cars and pushed the race into overtime—going a record-long 212 laps. Ah yes, all is right in the world now that racing is back with the 2023 season off to a great start!

It warmed up into the 50s over the weekend so that was nice. Took the dog out to the park to play ball on Saturday and caught the movie You People, starring Jonah Hill, Lauren London, and Eddie Murphy. I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was really damn funny. Even the girlfriend liked it.

And there’s that gorgeous C8 Z06 pace car!

Cartoon Corvette

It’s Friday! We were supposed to get a couple inches of the horrid white stuff during the day yesterday, but the temperature stood strong at 35 degrees all afternoon. The result—whole lot of rain. A little later it did get cooler and we got a dusting, but hopefully that will melt away soon.

Nascar ran the Daytona 500 qualifying races (Duel 1 & 2) last night. The first Dual was won by Joey Logano and went smoothly. The second Duel was won by Aric Almirola and had one pileup that was triggered by Kyle Busch getting pushed into the wall. That’s it for the preseason races, the lineup for Sunday’s Daytona 500 is set!

Youtube can be an incredible wealth of information, but for me it’s often just one rabbit hole after another. I go in there with a specific reason and emerge several hours later after watching absolutely nothing related to what I originally went in for. In one recent attempt to get information on the new Samsung S23 phone, I found a whole collection of videos of people painting their cars to look like cartoons! More specifically, in the style of Japanese Manga. In the video featured today the subject is a Corvette C8. I’m conflicted because on one hand the results look pretty cool. But on the other, damn, how could anyone do that to a new Vette!

Have a good weekend! Double babes & jokes… enjoy!

Lets Go!

It’s Thursday. Sledding was a blast when I was a kid. Whenever it would snow, my friends and I would grab our sleds and head to a hill in our neighborhood. The problem was the hill wasn’t very big. You would get a few seconds of downhill bliss and then it was time to hike back up to the top and do it again.

Imagine what it would’ve been like to have a bigger hill. A much bigger hill. For instance, the Swiss Alps. Check out this nearly 6 mile long toboggan run that would blow any kid’s mind!
