It’s Wednesday. It may not be Thanksgiving just yet but I can tell you right here and now that I’m most thankful for not having to work or travel today! The roads and skies will be mighty crammed on this most heavily traveled day of the year. On top of that the Chicagoland area will be dealing with falling temperatures and 60 mph wind gusts today, so that’ll surely cause issues at O’Hare and Midway. Meanwhile, I’ll be nice and toasty at home relaxing.

I’m all out of Cinnamon Coke. Shit.

It’s Monday. Well, I’m already feeling Nascar withdrawal symptoms and this was only the first weekend without my racing fix. Thankfully, the Bears were playing Sunday afternoon and that helped… slightly. The first half of the game was miserable but the team came alive in the second and managed to pull off a win against the Giants.

I picked up a few bottles of the new holiday Cinnamon Coca-Cola over the weekend and I really liked it. You may remember a number of years ago when Pepsi released a holiday edition called Pepsi Holiday Spice. It’s a lot like that but not quite as tart as I remember Holiday Spice was. I also just noticed that Sprite has a holiday flavor as well. It’s called Winter Spiced Cranberry Sprite and features, you guessed it—cranberries. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m not much of a cranberry fan so I’m guessing that I’m not gonna be very wild about it.

With Thanksgiving coming up this Thursday, many of us will enjoy a short work week. I’m looking forward to that but not so much everything that follows. I’m just not ready for Christmas yet and it’ll be coming at us full speed by Thursday night. Thank gawd for on-line shopping!
