Good Weekend

It’s Monday. Had a good weekend down here in Punta Gorda. It was a beautiful day yesterday so we spent the first part of the day out by the pool. By mid afternoon we decided to check out a food festival in nearby Laishley Park. The food was fantastic, especially the lobster bisque. Also had some pulled pork sliders and corn chowder that was mighty tasty. After that we went into Laishley’s Crab House for drinks and had my fill of Yuengling.

After dinner we walked over to Gilchrist Park to sit along the Peace River and watch the sunset. Not a bad way to wrap up the weekend.

Gorgeous!

It’s Sunday! We arrived down in southwest Florida on Friday night after an easy drive down. We spent the day Saturday out by the pool soaking up the sun and sipping margaritas. I can’t believe how tired we were by the end of the day. That sun really kicked our asses!

Today we’re planning to check out a local food festival. There’s also the Nascar race out in California. Might listen to that out by the pool later in the afternoon. Damn, I love it down here!

Route 66 Adventure

It’s Saturday! I recently found the following email from one of my readers. I had somehow overlooked it when it arrived back in August, so I decided to feature it today—better late than never!

For those who don’t know, when placing an order for a new Corvette, one of the many options to the customer is the ability to take delivery of your Vette at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It’s a popular option because many people like to fly into Bowling Green, pick up their new Vette, and then drive it home. It’s even better if you can take historic Route 66 home in your new Vette, like Steve!

Keep, Picked-up my first Corvette at the Museum in 2005 and drove back to California on Route 66. An interesting stop in Clinton, Oklahoma. -Steve
