All Lit Up!

It’s Tuesday. Sick, sick, sick. I haven’t had a cold in roughly 3 years and so far this one hasn’t been completely awful, so for that I’m grateful. I have some congestion in my head and chest but my sore throat has disappeared. I don’t have much of an apatite which is fine because nothing tastes good anyway. The part that pisses me off the most is how difficult it is to concentrate on anything. For instance, just writing this update is taking twice as long than usual. Even movies don’t hold my interest. All I can do is hope this passes quickly. Oh, and NyQuil is a gift from the Gods! I slept hard last night, way better than I expected.

I came across some holiday inspired photos several days ago. I really liked them so I thought possibly some of you would as well. Enjoy.

Dammit!

It’s Monday. It happened. I was hoping to slide through the whole cold/flu season again without getting sick, but that’s no longer possible. I woke up Sunday morning with a slight sore throat and feeling a bit off. The girlfriend has been very sick all last week and despite our best efforts to stay apart, it obviously didn’t work. So far I’m not too bad, but when it’s just getting started you never really know what you’re in for. Damn.

Well, the Bears didn’t lose yesterday. Of course, they didn’t play either.  This is probably their best winning strategy this whole season.

Before I got sick, a buddy and I decided to soak up some of the Christmas spirit by going to see the movie, Violent Night. It stars David Harbour from Stranger Things, as a beleaguered Santa who stumbles upon a group of mercenaries attacking the estate of a wealthy dysfunctional family. As the title implies, there’s a shit-ton of violence with many creative quality kills. While not your traditional holiday film, we both enjoyed it very much.

And speaking of the holidays, I started my Christmas shopping yesterday. I know, finally! I ordered one thing online so I feel like I’m on a roll now. I may try for a second item today. Or, I may just lay around the house being sick. That sounds pretty likely.

SNL Christmas

It’s Friday! With Christmas quickly approaching, I thought I’d help spread a little holiday cheer with my favorite SNL song  “I Wish It Was Christmas Today,” performed by Horatio Sanz, Jimmy Fallon, Chris Kattan and Tracy Morgan. I like to feature it every year because it’s just so damn festive and it always puts a smile on my face when I see it. And, what better way to wrap up the week, eh!
