It’s Monday. Spent the weekend getting out and setting up the Christmas decorations. We don’t usually do much, but one thing I have done for the last 24 years is set up a Christmas tree exclusively for my car ornaments. It started back in 1998 when my Dad bought me a Hallmark ornament of a 1998 Corvette convertible for Christmas. I didn’t have a tree at the time, so he made a makeshift tree out of a evergreen branch. I hung the ’98 Vette on it and every year I added one or two more. With the addition of the four I purchased recently (’57 Corvette, the Griswold Truckster, the Mayor’s car from Nightmare Before Christmas, and a ’56 Corvette) I now have a total of 40 ornaments. A few years ago I realized that I needed a bigger tree, so I purchased a 4-foot pre-lit Christmas Tree. It has done the job nicely over the past few years, but I’m afraid that I’ve now outgrown it as well. I’ll post a photo of my car tree tomorrow after it’s fully decorated.
