Hump Day

It’s Wednesday. I think we’re a couple days into an official heatwave. It has been mighty warm all throughout the south, but for some reason Illinois had been spared until now. It’s hot, but it doesn’t seem to bother me as much as others. Everyone is staying indoors while I’m out in the yard with a book and a big smile on my face! It’s finally summer!

I thought that I’d go with some midweek amateur goodness for today. Sound good? Enjoy…

Days of Thunder

It’s Tuesday. Back in 1990 Tom Cruise starred as Cole Trickle, a young hot-shot stock car driver that gets his chance to compete at Nascar’s top level in the film Days of Thunder. That was thirty-three years ago and just recently they found Cruise’s original #51 stock car from the film. It’s in rough shape, but it was a blast seeing it again! Enjoy!

Monday… Again

It’s Monday. That was a pretty good weekend. The girlfriend and I took a spin up to Glencoe, Illinois, on Saturday. They were holding their annual Glencoe Festival of Art. Numerous paintings, jewelry, ceramics, music, and food. The weather was nice, perfect for just walking around enjoying the art. It reminded us both of our days in Venice Beach, Florida, enjoying their annual art show. I’d love to get back to that one sometime.

We both took it easy on Sunday. It was warm, so I spent most of the day outside until the Nascar race at the Pocono Raceway came on. And that reminds me that I forgot to record the SRX race on Thursday night. Damn!
