Mid-Week Amateur Goodness

It’s Wednesday. Had a long day at work yesterday and missed out on a beautiful day. I’m starting to feel a slight panic in my soul as these late-summer days begin to wind down. September is approaching quickly. Not happy about that at all.

Sometimes a little mid-week amateur goodness is just what everyone needs. Enjoy!

C8 Sighting

It’s Tuesday. Hot damn tamale baby! One of my readers spotted this new 2020 pre-production C8 Corvette out on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. This is a pretty rare thing to see because the C8 has yet to go into production and there’s supposedly only a handful of them testing out in the wild. I’m hoping to get a hands-on look at one next month at the MidAmerica Motorworks annual Corvette show in Effingham, Illinois. Can’t wait!

Hey Keep, I was driving on the PA Turnpike yesterday when this unmarked car passed me.  I then saw the car parked at a service area and confirmed with the driver that it is the yet to ship 2020 Vette. He was a test driver out for a long cruise. Wish I had a pic of the front. 495 HP, 0-60 in under 3 seconds. Are you saving up? -Jay

Damn Good Weekend

It’s Monday. I didn’t realize this until now, but I had a Route 66 weekend! On Saturday I took a spin up to Berwyn (BERRRRWYN!) for their 29th annual Route 66 Car Show. I’ve been to this show twice before and somehow they manage to make it bigger and better every year. Over 1,000 cars of all kinds line up & down several blocks of historic Route 66 along with live entertainment and a crazy variety of great food. I spent a couple hours out there and had an absolute blast! I took a ton of photos and will feature them later this week.

On Sunday, the sun was out and the temperature was perfect for taking the Vette out for a spin! We didn’t have a destination, so we headed out into the country to fly by old farms and endless corn fields. We eventually ended up in the small town of Dwight where we picked up Route 66. They have several R66 attractions in Dwight, like a restored gas station and restaurant. After that we were back out in the country roads taking in the scenery and soaking up the sun. I hope we can get in a few more days like that before things start getting chilly.
