Redbull Zero-G F1 Pitstop

It’s Sunday! The RedBull Racing F1 pit crew recently pulled off a record setting 1.86 second pit stop, proving they’re the best on the planet. And when you’re the best on the planet, there’s only one way to go—up! Proving that even gravity can’t hold them down, they set out to prove their skills in zero gravity. The team took their 2005 RB1 car to the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center in Star City and proved that the sky really is the limit by completing a pit stop in zero gravity! Check out the video to watch them pull it off at 33,000 feet!

Bad Kitties

It’s Saturday! This happened to my aunt back when I was a kid, only it was messy and much more expensive. One chilly night her cat (Fritzy) had crawled up under the car and into the warmth of the engine compartment. When my aunt went out the next morning to start her car there was a terrible squeal coming from the engine. She immediately shut it off and opened the hood to find her bloody cat and a whole lot of fur scattered throughout the engine compartment. Poor Fritzy was cut up pretty bad. He suffered numerous lacerations, a broken paw, and lost a lot of blood and fur. I don’t remember how expensive it was to put Fritzy back together, but I’m sure it wasn’t cheap. If it’s true that cats have 9 lives, poor Fritzy used up several in the blink of an eye that chilly morning.

Ford vs. Ferrari

It’s Friday! Well, it’s that time of year again when I bitch about the Nascar season being over and being left with only the Chicago Bears games for my Sunday afternoon entertainment. Even worse, the team is so bad again this year that they’ll be missing the playoffs and concluding their season very soon. On a brighter note, Jimmy Johnson announced that he will retire from Nascar after the upcoming 2020 season! I certainly wasn’t surprised to hear the news because he’s been struggling for quite a while now and hasn’t won a race since 2017. I can only hope he doesn’t become a race commentator for Fox or NBC. Having to hear his weaselly voice calling the races every weekend would probably piss me off even more than his driving.

One of my reader’s came across a surprising scene at the University of Texas recently. A collection of Ford and Ferrari race cars were on display as a promotion for the film Ford vs. Ferrari starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale. He was able to snap a few photos from the event which appear in the gallery below. Definitely not something that you see every day!

Double babes & double jokes every Friday… enjoy!

Keep, There were about a dozen Shelby cars and a Ferrari here in Austin today. They set up on the UT Austin campus for a few hours. I walked over and took some pics. They were promoting the upcoming movie. Several of the car owners said they had seen previews and were doubtful since it was a car movie but were surprised that is was actually pretty good.

I am not a knowledgeable car guy but one of the organizers said there were $13 million worth of cars there with the Ferrari being 8 of that amount and don’t ask me about the cars, Dammit Jim, I’m an Engineer, not a Car mechanic!
