It’s Monday. Did everyone have a good Mother’s Day? It was a beautiful day here with temperatures in the low 80s and a gorgeous breeze. So, we had a cookout and grilled up some tasty marinated chicken kabobs and Salamini sausage. Throw in some chicken & broccoli rice, fresh cucumber, salad, pickles, and some strawberry cake and you have a hell of a nice afternoon dinner.

My belly is full and I’m ready to start the week.

It’s Friday! Is it car show season yet? Here in Illinois the weather is still too erratic to plan any outdoor events. Typically we have to wait until June before the warmer weather settles in for the summer. Once that happens, it’s game-on for all the weekly local cars shows. And one of my favorites is every Tuesday night in Plainfield. Since we’re still a few weeks out, I thought I’d feature a few photos of automotive goodness from last year’s Plainfield shows. Nothing specific, just a few to get those juices flowing!

It’s Thursday. So I was surfing through Youtube the other day and came across a new video from—believe it or not—Deep Purple! Yeah, I was very surprised to hear that not only are they still alive, but they’re still recording new music! The last thing I remember from them was “Perfect Strangers” (below) back in 1984, which I really liked. Anyway, give “Portable Door” (above) a listen and see if ya like it.
