Pirate Bones

It’s Thursday. One of my readers recently picked up a pirate skeleton at a yard sale just in time for Halloween. I love skeletons in Halloween displays, especially when there’s hordes of them invading a house. Crawling into the windows—up the side of the house—and up on the roof! Oh, and that reminds me, I want to get one to put in the passenger seat of my van. Or maybe one attached to the luggage rack on top!

Hey Keep, really enjoy your site. I also like Halloween and skulls etc. Found this guy at a yard sale and bought him on the spot. Share if you like. Thx Richard from New Brunswick Canada.

1967 Goodness

It’s Wednesday. Every now and then my readers come across some tasty vehicular goodness and send in their findings. And that’s exactly what I have today! This beautiful ’67 Rally Red Corvette Sting Ray Convertible was spotted out in the wild by Brad, a reader with a damn good eye for classics. In the Corvette world, the ’67 is the last of the C2 generation and very, very highly collectible. At first glimpse this one appears to be a big-block 427 with factory side pipes. However, Brad mentioned that the owner had to replace the original engine. Unfortunately, that greatly lowers the value and collectability. But, instead of this car spending its life on display in some museum or hidden away in a private collection, it can be driven and enjoyed—which is really what it was originally built for. Very nice! Thanks for taking the time to write in, Brad.

Keep – Long time no write!

I was admiring this Stingray when Mike came up and dropped groceries in it. He had wanted a ’67 since he was 10 years old, and finally got it. It’s all original except for the engine. Before he owned it, it was stolen and driven hard. Once it was returned, the engine had to be replaced, but he found a 1969 engine in great shape, so in it went. “I loved ’67 Stingrays until I bought one. Then it became a money pit. But it’s still fun to drive.” As he pulled out, his Vette had a deep-throated growl that I haven’t heard in years. Of course I told him to sign up with The Keeper, the home for all Vette lovers.
