Back to work…

It’s Thursday. I spent the first day of 2020 with my girlfriend down at her parent’s place in Mahomet, Illinois. Her mother made two pork roasts with all the tasty sides. We had a great dinner and enjoyed the afternoon just chatting and playing with Abby.  Not a bad way to kick off the new year.

With the holidays now officially over, it’s time to get back to work. That’s where it gets weird because today is a Thursday. Who starts working on a Thursday? I’m concerned that if I start on a Thursday that I might not give it my all. And Friday, starting work on a Friday would be absurd! It seems pretty clear to me now that the only way to do this right is to wait until Monday to start working again. Totally makes sense.

Happy New Year!

It’s Wednesday. Welcome to 2020! Instead of going out in the frigid cold last night, the girlfriend and I decided to stay in and cook our own NYE dinner at home. She had picked up some steak and lobster the other day so we prepared that and enjoyed every bite.

We also got started on the ominous task of taking down all the Christmas decorations. We put up less this year than in the past, but it’s still an all day endeavor. And after everything is gathered up and put away, and you think that you’re done, inevitably you find more.

Happy New Year everyone. Let’s hope it’s a good one.

Special New Year’s Day Babemania today!

NYE

It’s Tuesday. Believe it or not, it’s the final day of 2019. When I think about this past year I can say that it was fairly good to me. Work was steady and I’m still with my girlfriend of 19 years. We managed to fit in an additional vacation out to the east coast over the summer where we took in the sights and enjoyed lobster every day. We also picked up an addition to our small family and named her Abby. She’s an energetic sheepdog/poodle mix that my girlfriend has wanted her entire life. She’s already brightened our lives in so many ways.

On the other hand, the absolute worst was losing a few friends to cancer, all of which were too young. The older I get the more I realize that you have to take the good with the bad, no matter how unfair.

I hope everyone has a good time tonight. If you have plans to go out and party tonight, please make arrangements so you don’t have to drive. It’s a simple choice that could make a big difference in your life and the lives of others.
