It’s Tuesday. Abby took her first spin in the Corvette yesterday. While I was away working the girlfriend took the Vette out for a run over to the emissions center to get it tested for me. It was a nice warm day so the pup tagged along riding shotgun. She’s never been big on hanging her head out of the window while driving until just recently. I’m not sure what was going on when this photo was taken, but she looks like she’s contemplating something very serious.

She recently turned one year old (July 4th) and has fully recovered from her leg injury back in December. I was worried it was going to effect her mobility but she can run like the wind and shows no signs of slowing down. She is now sporting her summer style cut which is *much* easier to take care of and has to be far more comfortable in the summer heat. She’s really turned out to be a cool dog, very glad we got her.

It’s Monday. It was a hot & humid weekend here in Illinois. It wasn’t any better in Texas where NASCAR drivers had to endure in-car temperatures of 138 degrees and higher! Imagine dealing with that kind of heat for nearly 4 hours. I’m guessing that all but one of the drivers would’ve considered it a bad day—that one guy being Austin Dillon, of course, who took the checkered flag. It was nice seeing the #3 in victory lane once again. Oh, and Jimmy Johnson? He hit the wall again.

Other than watching the race, I did basically nothing all weekend. My girlfriend got very sick Friday and ended up spending the entire weekend in the hospital. She had a very bad reaction to some medication but thankfully the doctors got it straightened out quickly and was able to come home two days later on Sunday. Very scary.

Hope everyone had a decent weekend. For me it’s time to get back to work.
