Lazy Sunday

It’s Monday. I had a fairly lazy Sunday. I got caught up watching the live coverage of the SpaceX Crew Dragon astronauts returning to Earth. When you think about everything that has to go perfectly right to get them up to the ISS and then return them home safely, it just bends the mind. It was a proud moment for the US and I’m glad I watched. I gotta admit, though, every time they referred to the astronauts as “Bob & Doug” I giggled like a little kid! Ya see, I grew up with SCTV and was a huge fan of Bob & Doug McKenzie (Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas) and their comedy skit “The Great White North”. I had their Grammy nominated album, saw their movie Strange Brew & purchased the DVD, and even had a Bob & Doug T-shirt (like this one) that I proudly wore so often that it became nearly transparent. Ah yes, the good ‘ole days!

Fox River Walk

It’s Sunday! We were planning to take the Vette up to Lake Geneva for the day yesterday but the weather turned out to be rather gloomy. So, we left the Vette at home, grabbed the dog and drove up to St. Charles, Illinois, to check out their river walk along the Fox River.

They have a really nice river walk path that follows along the Fox River. It’s several miles long and you can bike it or walk. We had Abby along so we spent the afternoon on foot checking it out as the trail switches from one side of the river to the other. They have a beautiful park where you can picnic among the huge Oak trees, pick up some food at the snack shop, feed the ducks, take a river cruise, rent kayaks, and numerous places to just hang out. It wasn’t the most beautiful day, but we had a good afternoon just walking around on the river walk and downtown St. Charles.
