Summer Toy

It’s Wednesday. Now that summer is here, I asked my readers to send in photos of their summer toys to have them featured here on my site. The first to arrive is Rob’s 1981 Suzuki GS550. Looking at it closely it’s hard to believe that it’s 40 years old and still in such good condition. Very cool, Rob. Keep it on the road and enjoy it.

Keep, You featured my Harley Sportster already, But now I have my 1981 Suzuki GS550 out of mothballs and ripping up the road in the sun. Hard to believe the UJM’s (Universal Japanese Motorcycles) are 40 odd years old now. I wanted one as a teenager, the bookkeeper’s boyfriend had one and I lusted after it and also to be honest the bookkeeper. This is the last of the two valve GS’s and has anti-dive forks. Sounds great, it is fast enough and very comfortable for my 6’1″ – who says Japanese bikes don’t last. -Rob

What day is it?

It’s Tuesday. I think. I hope everyone had a good holiday. I spent part of it in central Illinois with my girlfriend’s side of them family. We did the traditional cookout thing and had a great time. The next day we came back home and had another cookout with my side of the family. Again, more tasty food and we all had a good time. If every weekend was like that I’d be 500 pounds by the end of summer. Thankfully the next major holiday isn’t until July.

We have warmer weather moving back into Illinois and by the weekend we should be back in the 90s! I’m definitely looking forward to that.

Time to break out the summer toys, boys! Have a cool car, boat, or bike? Send in a photo or two and I’ll feature it here on my site.

Memorial Day

It’s Monday. Just a quick reminder that Memorial Day is more that cookouts and gettogethers. It’s a day for honoring and mourning all our military personnel who have died performing their military duties while serving in the United States Armed Forces. So have a good day but remember those who sacrificed everything so the rest of us can enjoy our freedom in this great country.
