December Storms

It’s Monday. It was last Friday when I was talking about the unusually warm weather that was moving into our area. It was that warm air mass that sparked the severe weather that rolled through at least six states late Friday and early Saturday. I live about an hour outside of Chicago in the far southwest suburbs and all we had were high winds, heavy rain, and a few rumblings of thunder. However, downstate in Edwardsville, Illinois, it was a different story. Several people died in the Amazon fulfillment center when it collapsed. The worst damage was in Mayfield, Kentucky, where nearly the entire town has been destroyed. In Bowling Green, Kentucky, the Corvette Museum sustained only minor damage, but the Corvette Assembly Plant and the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park have sustained significant damage.

Scary stuff.

And we’re expecting even warmer weather over the next couple days. This may not be over just yet.
