It’s Monday. We’re starting week number two of our vacation down in southwest Florida. We had our first crappy weather day yesterday. The temperature was only in the low 70s and it was cloudy all day. Thankfully there was a Nascar race in Phoenix, so we broke out the munchies & beer and enjoyed the race. The rest of the week is supposed to be back into the 80s, so I’m looking forward to that.
We needed some things the other day so we made a run to a nearby Target store. Everything was fine until I saw several aisles packed with an unimaginable amount of Easter candy! I made no attempt to control myself and immediately picked up Easter M&Ms, Cadbury Eggs, malted Robin Eggs, Snickers Eggs, and Reese’s Easter Eggs. I know, I’m a candy junkie. Oh, and one observation—no sign of any chocolate crosses or chocolate Jesus.
Had dinner at a new restaurant the other night called The Pier. It’s located in Fisherman’s Village here in Punta Gorda so we thought we’d give it a shot. It’s a tad on the fancy side but the food was exceptional and the view on the water was really nice. It’s easily our favorite restaurant so far.
