It’s Monday. Saturday bad, Sunday good. It was a typical fall Illinois day on Saturday that saw heavy rain, high winds, and cool temperatures. Since it was crappy out, I stayed home and got some work done. The rain was still coming down hard later that night when we had to meet up with family for dinner at a local restaurant. The food was good and we had a great time.
The weather on Sunday was thankfully much better. It was sunny and warmed up to 70 degrees—perfect for an air & car show! The Joliet Regional Airport held a airplane & car show event that was canceled last Sunday due to heavy rain. Not this time, the weather was perfect and it was packed with several hundred cars, various aircraft, and a ton of spectators. The girlfriend and I took our puppy along who seemed to enjoy the show as much as we did. What I like about this show is that all the aircraft are out on the tarmac. You can go right up to them and touch or ask questions about them. Very cool. I’ll feature some of my photos from the event later in the week.
I missed the Bears game but heard they put up a good fight but lost to the Raiders. I finished up the night with a huge bowl of homemade minestrone soup while watching Kyle Larson take the checkers at the Monster Mile. Not a bad weekend.
