Chicken Attack!

It’s Tuesday. One of the best parts of running this website is being able to feature videos like this.

And dammit now that song is stuck in my head.

Soggy Muddy Mess

It’s Monday. Mother Nature did not cooperate with Nascar’s experiment in the dirt this weekend. The 2,000 truck-loads of dirt brought in to change the surface of the Bristol Motor Speedway from paved to dirt, quickly changed to  a muddy mess when the rain began to fall Saturday. They were able to get in a practice session but the qualifying races scheduled for Saturday night were cancelled and the Sunday race was postponed to Monday afternoon. Thankfully the weather for Monday in Bristol is nothing but sunshine, so they should be able to finally do some racing in the dirt!

Got together for a family event on Saturday night at a restaurant and ate indoors for the first time in over a year. I thought it was going to feel weird but it was really nice. Felt completely normal. The food was fantastic and so much better than lukewarm carry-out!

Time to get back to work…

Corvette Inspired Jet Boat

It’s Sunday! Yeah, this will probably turn a few heads out on the water…

This C7 Corvette lookalike powerboat made by JetCar Turkiye, a Turkey-based company that recently released a new video on Instagram showing their latest creation.

Unfortunately, the company’s website offers scant details on the craft, other than a few photos taken during production and a couple of videos showing them in action on the water, including a red one we told you about last May.

This latest video shows a gold boat having a great time spinning around an unidentified body of water. It’s described as a Seado 260 HP jet car, with no other information provided on the engine.

That someone would want to produce such a craft is no surprise, considering that the Corvette got its name from a type of warship, thanks to the suggestion of Chevy PR man Myron Scott. Then in the late 1980s Mercury Marine, of course, helped with the C4 ZR-1’s LT5 engine. In 2011, Marine Technology offered a ZR48 boat with two Mercury Marine twin-turbo engines that delivered 1,350 horsepower, but while it featured a dash lifted from a C6 Corvette, it didn’t really look like a Corvette except for the rear reminiscent of a C2 and C3.

This latest Corvette-based boat definitely looks the part, though, as the company obviously put forth a lot of effort in replicating a C7 body.
