Seth MacFarlane has his own Star Trek parody set to debut this fall on Fox, and, judging from the show’s first trailer, it looks to be as silly as anything he has done in the past. The Orville is essentially a workplace comedy set 300 years in the future. MacFarlane plays Captain Ed Mercer, an underachieving Planetary Union officer put in charge of the U.S.S. Orville and its mission to explore deep space. Joining him on the ship is his ex-wife Kelly Grayson (Adrianne Palicki) and a quirky crew that includes a slime creature voiced by Norm MacDonald. Check out the video above to see the first trailer for the upcoming series on the Fox network.
